LINOT TAIVAALLE / LINOS TO THE SKY

 

Neljä linopiirrosta Pispalan taloista rinnakkain kuvan alaosassa ja aika monta linopiirrosta linnuista taivaalle. Myös kuu pääsee yläkulmaan. Linolinnut ovat nyt paperilla väärinpäin eli siinä asennossa kuin ne vedostettaessa ovat.

 Four linocuts of Pispala houses side by side at the bottom of the picture and quite a few linocuts of birds in the sky. The moon also makes it to the top corner. The linocut birds are now on the paper upside down, i.e. in the position they are in when printing.

KALAPARVI / FLOCK OF FISH

 

Pienetkin linopiirrokset kaloista on nyt lisätty tähän 40 x 30 cm kokoiseen kuvaan. Pienimmät kalat liimasin viinipullon korkkeihin, jotta niitä oli helpompi vedostaa painamalla. Pienimmät kalat ovat vain noin 2 x 2 cm kokoisia. Mukaan on eksynyt muutama simpukankuorikin.

Even the small linocuts of the fish have now been added to this 40 x 30 cm image. I glued the smallest fish to wine bottle corks to make them easier to print by pressing. The smallest fish are only about 2 x 2 cm in size. You can find also a few mussel shells in the flock of fish.

Huomenna (6.12.2026) on loppiainen, ja jouluaika on silloin virallisesti päättynyt. Kissa on vielä laittanut tonttulakin päähänsä ja aikoo juhlia tätä joulun loppua kunnolla. Tämän "Tupsulakki" / "Nina Hat" - linopiirroksen on tehnyt Tabitha Whitley. Kaiverrusjälki on kaunis, selkeä, varma, yksinkertainen. Mitään turhaa hienostelua ei tässä linopiirroksessa ole, mutta jäljen tuntee hyvin linopiirrokseksi muutamien jäljelle jääneiden "roskien" perusteella hännän huipussa ja tonttulakin tupsussa.

Tomorrow (December 6, 2026) is Epiphany and Christmas will officially be over. The cat has still put on his Santa hat and is planning to celebrate the end of Christmas properly. This "Nina Hat" linocut was made by Tabitha Whitley. The engraving is beautiful, clear, sure, simple. There is no unnecessary refinement in this linocut, but the trace is very recognizable as a linocut based on the few remaining "clutter" at the tip of the tail and on the tassel of the Santa hat.

Mahtuisivatko kaikki pienemmät linopiirrokset kaloista yhdelle paperille, jonka koko on 40 x 30 cm. Kokeillaan. Aloitetaan sijoittelemalla linoja paperille. Kaikkein pienimmät stampit / leimasinmalliset kalat vielä puuttuvat.
