MELKEIN VALMIS / ALMOST THERE : 6

 

Sekatekniikkatyö, linopstelli kissasta puussa perhosineen on melkein valmis. Perhosten lisäksi taivaalle tupsahti muutama hyönteinen ja koppakuoriainen. vielä tarvitaan hiukan lisää väriä kissan turkkiin ja perhosten siipiin.

The mixed media work, a linocut & pastel of a cat in a tree with butterflies, is almost finished. In addition to the butterflies, a few insects and a beetle flew into the sky. There is still need of a little more color for the cat's fur and the butterflies' wings.

PERHOSET KUVAAN / BUTTERFLIES IN THE PICTURE : 5

Perhoset paikoilleen taivaalle. Tässä vaiheessa voi vielä tehdä virheitä ja pilata koko työn, pudottaa linopiirroksen perhosesta vahingossa paperille, sutata linoa irroittaessaan tai vain tehdä huonon vedoksen, liian paljon tai liian vähän mustetta ja mitä vielä. haasteellista ja hauskaa puuhaa!

Butterflies in place in the sky. At this stage, you can still make mistakes and ruin the whole job, accidentally drop the linocut of the butterfly on the paper, mess up the lino when removing it or just make a bad print, too much or too little ink and whatnot. Challenging and fun activity!

KISSALLE RAITOJA / STRIPES ON THE CAT : 4

 Pastellitaivas alkoi olla valmis, mutta kissaa ei oikein erottunut puun lehvistöstä. Siispä lisäsin kissan turkkiin keltaisia raitoja värittämällä käsin. ehkä tarvitaan vielä lisääkin väriä raitoihin...

The pastel sky was starting to look finished, but it didn't really see the cat from the tree foliage. So I added yellow stripes to the cat's fur by hand coloring. Maybe I need more color for the stripes...

PASTELLIA KISSAN YLLE /PASTEL OVER THE CAT : 3

 

Kissa puussa sai nyt pastellitaivaan ylleen . Ehkä tämä on iltataivas,  sinistä ja kellanpunaista.  Valkoiset paikat on varattu perhosille. Puiden välistä pilkottaa punainen kuu.

 The cat in the tree is now under a pastel sky. Maybe this is the evening sky, blue and yellow-red. The white spaces are reserved for butterflies. A red moon peeks through the trees.

Mikä kesäinen valo ja tunnelma! Kaksi naista, ehkä äiti ja tytär nauttivat teehetkestä keltaisessa huoneessa. Penkin kangas on keltainen ja ikkunasta aukeaa auringossa kylpevä keltainen maisema. Äiti kurkottaa puhuakseen lattialla olevalle kissalle. Joko että: "Ei saa norkoilla herkkupaloja" tai "Kyllä sinullekin löytyy herkkua". Nuori mies kurkkii ikkunan takaa sisälle. Eikö hänelle tarjotakaan tetä? Kuvan on maalannut englantilainen James Durden (1878 - 1964) ja sen nimi on Summer in Cumberland / Kesä Cumberlandisssa). Kortti on vain rajattu osa teoksesta.

What a summery light and atmosphere! Two women, perhaps a mother and daughter, are enjoying tea in a yellow room. The fabric of the bench is yellow and the window opens onto a yellow landscape bathed in the sun. The mother reaches out to speak to the cat on the floor. Either: "You can't beg for treats" or "There's a treat for you too". A young man peeks in from behind the window. Isn't he being offered tea? The picture was painted by the Englishman James Durden (1878-1964) and is called Summer in Cumberland. The card is only part of the work.

PERHOSIA / BUTTERFLIES : 2

 Puussa olevan kissan yläpuolelle on tulossa linopiirroksia: parvi perhosia. Tein perhosista muovisrt sapluunat, joiden avulla pystyn jättämään perhoslinoille vaaleat paikat taivaalle ja vedostaa ne viimeisinä. Käytän pahvisia paspartuureja reunojen rajaukseen ja suojaukseen.

Above the cat in the tree, linocuts are coming: a flock of butterflies. I made plastic stencils of the butterflies, which allow me to leave light spots in the sky for the butterfly linocuts and print them last. I use cardboard mats to outline and protect the edges.

KISSA PUUSSA / CAT IN THE TREE : 1

 

Vedostin kaksi kappaletta linopiirrosta kissasta puussa- Linopirroksen koko on 20 x 30 cm ja sen yläpuolelle jätin  tilaa taivaalle niin, että kuvan lopullinen koko tulee olemaan 50 x 30 cm. Kissaa ei vedoksessa oikein erota puusta, ehkä se on piilossa, mutta haluaisin sen kyllä näkyvämmäksi.

I made two copies of the linocut of the cat in the tree - the size of the linocut is 20 x 30 cm and I left space for the sky above it so that the final size of the image will be 50 x 30 cm. JÄI IHOLLENI HIEKKAA / SAND WAS LEFT ON MY SKIN

 

Tähän mennessä suurin sekatekniikkatyöni lino/pastelli taitaa olla valmis. Linnut ja yksi korento kiertävät taivaalla aurinkon ohi. Taivaalla on pinkkiä pilviä ja pilvien lomassa ihan vain muutama pienen pieni punainen sydän.Linnut, korento, aurinko ja sydämet ovat linopiirroksia, muu pehmeää pastellia ja hiukan pastellikynääkin. Keskiosassa on linopiirros Pispalan harjusta ja Tahmelan rannasta. Alhaalla on pastellivettä ja pohjakiviä sekä linopiirroksia: kaloja, meritähtiä, vesikasveja ja simpukoita. Kuvan koko on aika haastava 200 x 90 cm. Mutta oli sitä hauska ja haastava tehdäkin kun vähitellen näki tyhjälle paperille syntyvän tällaisen aika pinkki/violettisävyisen (sielun)maiseman. Nimeksi löysin Juice Leskisen kappaleesta Viidestoista yö tällaiset kaksi lausetta: "Jäi iholleni hiekkaa rannan autioituneen. Voi olla, että vihdoin pääsen uneen".

So far, my largest mixed media work, lino/pastel, seems to be finished. Birds and a swallow are circling the sky past the sun. There are some pink clouds in the sky and just a few tiny red hearts among the clouds. The birds, dragon fly, sun and hearts are linocuts, the rest is soft pastel and a little pastel pencil. In the middle is a linocut of Pispala ridge and Tahmela beach. Below the pastel water and bottom rocks are pastel and the rest linocuts : fish, starfish, aquatic plants and mussels. The size of the picture is quite challenging at 200 x 90 cm. But it was fun and challenging to do when I gradually saw such a pretty pink/purple-toned (soul) landscape emerging on the blank paper. I found these two sentences from Juice Leskinen's song Fifteenth Night as the title: "Sand Was Left On My Skin After the Beach Was Deserted. Maybe I'll Finally Get To Sleep."

  

JANNE LAINE - NÄYTTELY / EXHIBITION

Galleria Himmelblaussa on nyt Janne Laineen iso näyttely "Dialogeja" grafiikkaa, jossa valokuva yhdistyy monenlaiseen tekniikkaan. Suuri osa töistä on taattua Lainetta, seesteisiä tunnelmia metsistä, puusta, pilvistä, sumusta. Yllätys: aivan ihastuttavat kaksi muotokuvaa, vanhimnat näyttelyssä, vuodelta 1996. Aivan erinomaisia ovat myös yhteistyöt Outi Heiskasen kanssa ja hassut hiiret yhteistöissä Markus Jäntin kanssa.

Gallery Himmelblau is now hosting a large exhibition of Janne Laine's graphics, "Dialogues", in which photography is combined with a variety of techniques. Most of the works are guaranteed Laine, serene atmospheres of forests, trees, clouds, fog. Surprise: two absolutely delightful portraits, the oldest in the exhibition, from 1996. Also excellent are the collaborations with Outi Heiskanen and the funny mice in collaborations with Markus Jäntti.

LAIKUN LAINASTO -NÄYTTELY / EXHIBITION

Kulttuuritalo Laikun näyttely tamperelaisten kotoaan tuomista taideteoksista on mielenkiintoinen. Teosten yhteydessä on omistajien kertomukset, ja niitä on hauska lukea. Oikeastaan menin katsomaan tuota Olli Viirin ihanaa Pispala-kuvaa, jonka vedokset olen aiemmin nähnyt Saskian perähuoneessa ja Pispalan koululla yhdessä työhuoneessa.

The Laikku Cultural Centre's exhibition of artworks brought by Tampere residents from their homes is interesting. The works are accompanied by stories from the owners, and they are fun to read. I actually went to see that lovely Pispala painting by Olli Viiri, prints of which I have previously seen in Saskia's back room and in one of the offices at Pispala School.

Viktoriaanisessa kortissa röyhelöhameinen tyttö pitää aurinkovarjoa, kallistaa päätään ja hymyilee - juuri niin kuin on opetettu.Sylissä on kissa. Koira on aikeissa nuolla tytön poskea ja toinenkin koira näyttää aika vilkkaalta. Taustalla on romanttinen maisema, sarvipäinen kauris ja upea linna puiden suojassa. Pari perhostakin leijailee vasemmassa yläkulmassa. Tekijästä ei ole tietoa, mutta maalauksen nimi on "Auringonvarjo / Sunshade".

In the Victorian card, a girl in a frilly skirt holds a parasol, tilts her head and smiles - just like she was taught. There is a cat in her lap. A dog is about to lick the girl's cheek and another dog looks quite lively too. In the background is a romantic landscape, a horned deer and a magnificent castle sheltered by trees. A couple of butterflies also flutter in the upper left corner. The artist is unknown, but the painting is called " Sunshade".

LATTIALLA / ON THE FLOOR : 19

 

Tämän ison (200 x 90 cm) sekatekniikkatyön viimeistely onnistui lattialla, sillä työpöytäni on ihan liian pieni. Pois tieltä seinällekin sain kuvan vain vaakasuoraan, poikittain. Teos tarvitsee aika ison tilan, korkeutta kunnolla. Nyt se pitäisi sitten saada kehystettäväksi Art Pispalaan. Sesse joutuu hakemaan kuvan pakettiautollaan.En uskalla kääntää linopastellia rullalle, jotta ei suttaannu vaikka onhan siinä kiinnikettäkin.

This large (200 x 90 cm) mixed media work was finished on the floor, because my desk is too small. Even out of the way, I could only get the picture horizontally, across, on the wall. The work needs quite a lot of space, with a decent amount of height. Now I have to get it framed at Art Pispala. Sesse has to pick up the picture in her van. I don't dare roll up the lino pastel so it doesn't get dirty, even though it has been fixated.

TAIVAS JA VESI / SKY AND WATER : 18

 

Tähän mennessä isoin sekatekniikkatyöni, linopastelli taivaasta ja vedestä sekä Pispalan harjusta taitaa nyt olla valmis. Ja sen käsitteleminen työpöydällä viimeistelyä varten oli ihan mahdotonta. Pitänee siirtyä tekemään hommaa lattialle.

My biggest mixed media work to date, a lino pastel of sky and water and Pispala ridge, seems to be finished now. And it was impossible to finish it on the desk. I guess I'll have to move to the floor to do the work.

PIENIMMÄT LINNUT / SMALLEST BIRDS : 17

 

Nyt on kaikken pienimmätkin linopiirroslinnut eli stampit vedostettu taivaalle. Muutamat linnut ovat saaneet hiukan lisää väriäkin: tikka punaista rintaan ja päähän, tiainen keltaista kylkeen ja ukonkorento väriä siipiin. Luulisin, että ison sekatekniikkatyön eli linopastellin yläosa alkaa olla tässä.

Now even the smallest linocut birds, or stamps, have been printed onto the sky. A few birds have also got a little more color: the woodpecker has red on its chest and head, the tit has yellow on its side, and the dtragonfly has color on its wings. PIKKULINTUJA / SMALL BIRDS : 16

 

Aloin asetella taivaalle linopiirroksia pienistä linnuista jo siellä lentelevien isompien lisäksi. Aurinkokin on jo vedostettu taivaalle, ja se on keltainen.
