Sarah Maycock's tonal, brown watercolor painting depicts a fluffy cat at a door. The cat looks pleadingly, probably asking you to open the door outside. The glass of the door reflects the light beautifully onto the floor, and from behind the windows a little green peeks through the otherwise brown-toned image. On the back of the card is an excerpt from William Cowper's (1731-1800) poem The Retired Cat:
There, wanting nothing, save a fan,
To seem some nymph in her sedan,
Apparell'd in exactest sort,
And ready to be bourne to court.
