Hollantilainen Sal Meyer (1877-1965) maalasi tämän kissakuvan vuonna 1909. Tuosta ajasta kertovat tapetin ja maton kuviot ja keltaruskea värikin. Mutta kissa voisi olla miltä ajalta tahansa. Hänet on nähtävästi herätetty päiväuniltaan, ilme on sen verran nyrpeä. Nukkumapaikka on ehkä silinterilaatikko, aika pehmeä musta pahvilaatikko. Meyer on hienosti maalannut hiukan rypistyneen pahvin ja laatikon pohjan, joka on ommeltu kiinni.

Dutch Sal Meyer (1877-1965) painted this cat picture in 1909. The patterns of the wallpaper and carpet and also the yellowish brown colour is typical for that era. But the cat might belong to any time. Apparently she has been woken from her nap, the expression on her face is somewhat morose. The sleeping place might be a top hat box, rather soft black cardboard box. Meyer has finely captured the crinkled cardboard and also the bottom which has been stitched together.
