KOHTI IITTALAA: 5 / TO IITTALA: 5

Nyt on tavarat Iittalassa kesän 2026 Naivistit Iittalassa/Kotiinpaluu -näyttelyä varten.

Ja tavaraa riittää: linopiirroksia/pastellia seinille ja aulapuotiin tauluja, kortteja ja keittiöpyyhkeitä. Isot kiitokset Sesselle Art Pispalasta! Sessen pakettiautoon mahtuivat isotkin taulut ja muu tavara.

Vanha puukoulu näytti olevan jo täynnä ihanaa naivistista taidetta - hieno kesä tulossa! Näyttely on avoinna 18.5. - 30.8.2026.

Now there are items at Iittala for the summer 2026 Naive Artists at Iittala/Homecoming exhibition. And there is plenty of stuff: linocuts/pastels for the walls and linocuts, cards and tea towels for the lobby shop. Big thanks to Sesse from Art Pispala! Sesse's van could fit even large paintings and other items. The old wooden school seemed to be already full of wonderful naive art - a great summer is coming! The exhibition is open from 18.5. - 30.8.2026.

Kissakortti: 669 / Cat Card: 669

Huolestunut äiti on kuitenkin kutsunut paikalle kissatohtorin knallihatussaan. Tohtori antaa lääkettä lusikalla kissanpojalle ja lattialla on lääkärin laukku. Kaikki kissojen kotona on herttaista, sydän kissanpojan vihreän puusängyn päädyssä, kukkamaalaukset ovessa, punainen verhokappa, lautaset seinähyllyssä, kaksi taulua ja aamutossut kissanpojan sängyn vieressä. Pikaista paranemista!

This cat card is an old Palet card (558/9). You can tell by the beautiful decorative border and the slightly inaccurate printing. There is no information about the artist. But the card was printed in 1979. The kitten has fallen ill (hopefully just with the flu). However, the worried mother has called in a cat doctor in his fedora. The doctor is giving medicine to the kitten with a spoon and there is a doctor's bag on the floor. Everything in the cats' home is lovely, a heart at the head of the kitten's green wooden bed, flower paintings on the door, a red curtain rod, plates on the wall shelf, two paintings and slippers next to the kitten's bed. Get well soon!

KOHTI IITTALAA: 4 / TO IITTALA: 4

Neliömallisissa taitettavissa korteissa on paljon kissoja. Ja kortteja aiemmiltakin vuosilta on lähdössä mukaan. Kortit on painettu Tamperelaisessa Tamkopiossa. Näyttely Naivistit Iittalassa: kotiinpaluu on avoinna 18.5. - 30.8.2026.

Kissakortti: 668 / Cat Card: 668

Mikä ilkeä virne kissan silmissä ja kasvoilla! Saksalaisen Michael Sowan (s.1945) maalauksen nimi on  "Brunssi"/ "Brunch".

******************

What a wicked grin in the cat's eyes and face! The painting by German Michael Sowa (b. 1945) is called "Brunch". And this meal is not the cat's only one today, judging by his plump form and big belly. After brunch, there are mouse and bird skeletons, bones, feathers and eggshells on the floor. The cat still has a live bird in his clutches.

YÖ VÄISTYY YLTÄ KATTOJEN / THE NIGHT RECEDES FROM THE ROOFTOPS

Valmis! Pispalan ylle nousee linnunrata - muistuttaa jotain taivallista räjähdystä. Taivas on täynnä tähtiä ja lentelee siellä muutama sudenkorentokin. Pispalan harjulla haulitorni on väritetty punaiseksi tussilla. Alaosa ja korennot ovat linopiirroksia, taivas pehmeää pastellia. Kuvan koko on 88 x 39 cm. Nimensä kuva sai Juice Leskisen kappaleesta Afroditen poika: " Yö väistyy yltä kattojen ja valon nähdä saan, kun yksin ulos tuijotan".

***************
Ready! The Milky Way rises above Pispala - reminiscent of some celestial explosion. The sky is full of stars and a few dragonflies are flying there. The shot tower on the Pispala ridge has been colored red with a marker. The lower part and the dragonflies are linocuts, the sky is soft pastel. The size of the picture is 88 x 39 cm. The picture got its name from Juice Leskinen's song Aphrodite's son: "The night recedes from the rooftops and I can see the light, when I stare out alone".

TÄHDET TAIVAALLE / STARS IN THE SKY : 4

Linnunradan ympärille alkoi nyt tulla tähtiä, isompia ja paljon pienempiä. Tähdetkin ovat pastellia, mutta joukossa on myös tussilla tehtyjä. Oikealla reunalla paistaa pienen pieni kuunsirppi.

*****************

Stars began to appear around the Milky Way, larger and much smaller. The stars are also pastel, but there are also some made with markers. A tiny crescent moon shines on the right edge.

LINNUNRATAA/ MILKY WAY : 3

Pispalan harjun ylle alkoi nyt muodostua pastelliliiduilla linnunrataa. Varmasti taivaalle on myös tulossa tähtiä, keltaista, sinistä, violettia.

 ************

The Milky Way is now starting to form over the Pispala ridge in pastel chalk. There are certainly stars coming into the sky too, yellow, blue, purple.
