"Le chat savant / Oppinut kissa" -maalauksen tekijäksi mainitaan Saint Come. Kissa näyttää kyllä enemmänkin kirjahyllyyn eksyneeltä. Kynä ja kirjekuori viittaisivat siihen, että kissa kirjoittaisi kirjeitä - ei tuolla tassulla. Vasemmalla olevan opuksen nimi on Kittens / Kissanpoikia, mutta tuskin sitäkään on tämä kissa lukenut. Silmät on maalattu hienosti, vaaleat ja tummat reunukset.*************
"Le chat savant / The Learned Cat" is attributed to Saint Come. The cat does look more like it got lost on the bookshelf. The pen and the envelope would indicate that the cat would write letters - not with that paw. The opus on the left is called Kittens, but this cat has hardly read that either. The eyes are nicely painted, with light and dark edges.
