This painting by Martin Leman (b. 1934) is called "Two Cats in Moonlight". And there are actually all the things that I like in Leman´s cat paintings: the laughing faces of the cats, round eyes, the colours of the fur and the shapes of the cats, the moon, clouds, draped curtains and flowers in the pot. In this picture there are still a small red ball and beautifully patterned tiles.

Now my works are on their way to exhibitions at the 100 Works galleries, first in Lehtimäki after the Midsummer and after that in Kuusamo. The galleries are run by Esa Leppänen, a Naïve painter and scrap metal sculptor. Esa and his wife Satu took a buch of linocut, cards and tea towels from my studio for the exhibitions, thanks a lot! In the exhibitions there will be Esa´s own works, welded scrap metal sculptures and very Naïve paintings, and also Juha Käkelä´s sawn off sculptures. We three female Naïve artists represent our own styles: Tarja Rinta and Kyllikki Lahtinen happy paintings, colourful encounters from everyday life and me: linocuts and pastels of cats and Pispala.

I started a series of monoprints, which have one of my many linocuts of cats. So to speak, a series of cats on monoprints. First are these small 9 x 9 cm small funny cat. My aim would be to frame these small cats 20 x 20 cm or 30 x 30 cm frames.
