Is it a butterfly or an angel cat, flying over a snowy land or a lake? In the background there is a forest edge and a few red cottages. The cat is a linocut and the background is soft pastel. There is glitter in the background, which doesn't show up very well in the photo, so I tried to take a small video. The size is 20 x 20 cm. I tried to find a name for the image from Lauri Viita's Kukunor poem and this is what I found: "Create a path on the snow as you go, come back prepared".

The wings of the speckled butterfly are hand-colored, purple, brownish, gold and silver. The butterfly is a linocut printed on a monotype base. The background also turned out quite purple. The size of the picture is still only 9 x 9 cm.

This moth only reveals its bright and dark red lower wings in flight. Otherwise, the butterfly looks quite colorless and does not attract predators. This linocut butterfly is part of a series of linocuts with a monoprint background. Here, the background is also reddish. The size of the image is only 9 x 9 cm.

Five linocut butterflies are printed on a brown monotype base. I hand-colored the wings of the butterflies with colored pencils or pastels to match the brown background. The pictures are small, only 7 x 7 cm. A total of 23 of these small butterflies were created. I plan to frame them in a 15 x 15 cm frame or passepartout. At least next summer these will be on sale, for example, in Interi's summer shop.

Six linocut butterflies flew into the air, some blue, some green at least in the background. I also added color to the butterflies' wings with colored pencils or pastels. The images are small, only 7 x 7 cm.

Five red linocut butterflies or images with at least a little red in the background have now been made. The size of the picture is only 7 x 7 cm. These are really fun to make, first a monoprint background so that there is space for the butterfly using a stencil (a piece of foil cut into the shape of a butterfly). The linocut of the butterfly has been printed last and perhaps some more color added to the wings by hand with colored pencil or pastel.

A stack of small linocut butterflies on a monoprint base came out, 23 pieces. The wings of the butterflies are still hand-colored in some of the images. The size of the images is only 7 x 7 cm. Here are seven butterflies to start with, with at least a little yellow in the background.

The swallowtail butterfly is a linocut and the background is a monotype. In the two backgrounds I used a plastic knife and made some patterns resembling blades of grass and flowers. The background became so vivid that I didn't color the butterfly. In the third, the background is smoother, so I colored the butterfly's wings by hand and also added a few small lino birds. The size of the picture is 15 x 15 cm.

There were still a couple of hawkmoths that flew out, linocuts with monoprints. The wings of these butterflies are also colored by hand. The size of the picture is 12 x 12 cm. Next, I think I will work on lino cats with monoprints. There are really enough of them.

The linocut of a butterfly is printed on a monoprint and colored by hand quite imaginatively. I made the blurry backgrounds in the picture for these, or even quite colourful ones when I learned how to spread color on a monoprint on a Gelli plate using a plastic knife.

Another slightly bigger and more speedy butterfly joined my series of small linocuts on a monoprint basis. The size of the picture is only 9 x 9 cm. The wings of the butterfly are colored by hand.
