YÖKKÖNEN / MOTH

 

Kaksi kuvaa sarjaan pieniä linopiirroksia monotypiataustalla ovat yöperhosia. Tausta on vedostettu samasta väripohjsta, ensin tummempi ja sitten ns. haamu. Linopiirros perhosesta on vedostettu pohjan päälle ja lopuksi hiukan väritetty siipiä käsin. Pieni on tämäkin: 9 x 9 cm.

Two images in a series of small linocuts on a monotype background are of moths. The background is printed from the same color base, first darker and then the so-called ghost. The linocut of the butterfly is printed over the base and finally the wings are slightly colored by hand. This one is also small: 9 x 9 cm.

YÖPERHONEN / MOTH

Linopiirros yöperhosesta on vedostettu monoprintin päälle. Toinen näistä on valoisa, ehkä viljapelto oillan auringossa. Toisessa kuvassa perho lentelee selvästi yöllä. Perhosen siivet on väritetty käsin. Koko on 12 x 12 cm.

The linocut of a moth is printed on top of the monoprint. One of these is bright, perhaps a cornfield in the evening sun. In the second picture, the fly is clearly flying at night. The wings of the butterfly are colored by hand. The size is 12 x 12 cm.

Yksi perhonen sarjaani pieniä (9 x 9 cm) linopiirroksia monoprintillä. Yökkösen takasiivet on väritetty punaisiksi. Onkohan se joku pelotusväri? Ja näkyykö se yöllä?

One butterfly in my series of small (9 x 9 cm) linocuts with monoprint. The hind wings of the moth are colored red. Is it some scary color? And is it visible at night?

YÖKKÖNEN JA LINTU / MOTH & BIRD

 Uusia taivaita kohti! Tein myös yöperhosen, yökkösen, pienen linopiirroksen tai leimasimen. Väritin tämän yökkösen alasiivet kirkkaan punaisiksi. Linon koko on 7 x 11 cm. Samalla syntyi uusi pieni lentävä lintu, linopiirros, taidan jättää mustavalkoiseksi, 10 x 10 cm.

Towards new skies! I made also a night butterfly, moth, small linocut or stamps. I coloured the lower wings of this moth bright red. The size of the lino is 7 x 11 cm. At the same time I carved also a small flying bird, linocut, I might leave this black and white, 10 x 10 cm.

KIITÄJÄ / MOTH

 

Yhdeksäs versio linopiirroksesta monoprintillä on kiitäjä. Oikeastaan yritin tehdä pääkallokiitäjän, mutta pääkallo ei erotu kovin hyvin. Siipien kohdalle levitin keltaista pastelliväriä ennen vedostusta. Tätä sarjaa on tosi hausta tehdä. Mahdollisuudet erilaisiin variaatioihin ovat rajattomat, ja sen voi havaita kun katsoo lattialla olevia monoprinttipohjia ennen linopiirrosten vedostusta.

The ninth version of a linocut on a monoprint is a moth. Actually I tried to make it as a skullmoth, but the skull is not very visible and clear. I spread some yellow pastel colour under the wings before printing. This series is really fun to make. The possibilities for different variations are limitless, and you can see that when watching at monoprint backgrounds on the floor before printing the linos,

YÖPERHONEN / MOTH

Tämän  yöperhosen siipien kärkiväli on 14 cm. Tätä linopiirrosta voisi käyttää isommissa sekatekniikkatöissä muiden perhosten kanssa lentämässä taivaalla. Noiden siivissä olevien "silmien" kohdalle kannattaa varmaan lisätä jotain väriä ennen vedostusta.

The wingspan of this moth is 14 cm. I could use this linocut as a part of larger mixed media works flying with other butterflies in the sky. And I could add some colour before printing under the "eyes" on the wings.
