SINÄ YÖNÄ LÄHTIVÄT JÄÄT / THAT NIGHT THE ICE LEFT

Uusi linopiirros & pastellityö on nimetty myös Juicen kappaleiden mukaan: " Sinä yönä lähtivät jäät". Tämä on tilaustyö, jossa pohjalla ajatus oli ajatus Pispala-aiheisesta linopiirroksesta, linnuista, kuusta ja aika tummasta pastellitaivaasta. Tätä oli hauska tehdä kun sain asiakkaalta välillä vinkkejä mm. lintuparven muodosta, kuun koosta, tunnelmasta ja taivaan väreistä. Tässä tapauksessa ei tuntunut mitenkään siltä, että asiakas olisi painostanut tai kahlinnut omaa inspiraatiota, päinvastoin. Yleensä lintuparvissani linnut lentävät kaikki samaan suuntaan, mutta nyt parvi on hajaantunut eri suuntiin ja vasta hakee muotoaan. Asiakkaan ideasta syntyi yhden linnun siipeen oranssi heijastus kuusta ja parveen mustien lintujen lisäksi harmaita ja vaaleita. Tämä on aika iso: 70 x 40 cm.

A new linocut & pastel work got its name also after a music piece by Juice: " That Night the Ice Left". This is a commission work, and the idea was a picture based on a linocut of Pispala, birds, moon and rather dark pastel sky. This work was really fun to make when I received hints from the customer in between regarding for example about the shake of flock of birds, size of the moon, the ambience and the colour of the sky. In this case it didn´t felt at all like any pressure by the customer or that my own inspiration would be shackled, on the contrary. Usually my flocks of  birds are all flying to the same direction, but here they are dispersed in different directions and just trying to find their shape. It was an idea of the customer that I made some orange reflection of the moon on the wing of a bird, and a couple of grey or lighter coloured birds in addition to the black ones. This is quite large: 70 x 40 cm.
