**************
The largest and most magnificent gallery space in Tampere is without a question Himmelblau, a couple former factory halls of Finlayson. Now there are paintings and a few graphics by Kristian Krokfors (b. 1952). Two graphic sheets of houses are stylish, atmospheric, tuneful and beautiful. Most of the paintings are depicting balloons or narrow multicoloured trees like cypresses. The main points in these paintings seem to be different interpretations of shapes, colour combinations or the sizes of patterns of the balloons and trees - rather clinical, superficial and decorative. I walked them by. But one small painting of palm trees and water stopped for a while. The bigger factory hall was filled with glass and paintings by Markku Piri and Lasismi group, some fun juxtapositions of glass and paintings or art pieces and original factory devices.
