LONDON CALLING : 4

 

Nyt tämä Arsenal-jalkapallojoukkueen fanille tekemäni sekatekniikkatyö on varmaan valmis. Toiveesta kuvaan on lisätty Lontoon kattojen ylle Emirates Stadium ja Arsenalin punaista väriä taivaalle. Tätä "tilausta" oli tosi kiva tehdä kun on itsekin Arsenalin kannattaja. Työn nimeksi tuli The Clashin kappaletta mukaillen London Calling Epe. Kokoa kuvalla on 50 x 30 cm. Taivas on pehmeää pastellia ja linnut, kuu ja Lontoon näkymä linopiirroksia.

Now this mixed media work I made for a fan of the Arsenal football team is probably finished. As requested, the Emirates Stadium over the roofs of London and the red color of Arsenal in the sky have been added to the picture. This "order" was really nice to do as I am an Arsenal fan myself. The work was named London Calling Epe, adapted from The Clash's song. The size of the picture is 50 x 30 cm. The sky is soft pastel and the birds, moon and view of London are linocuts.

Lontoon taivaalle tuli paljon Arsenalin jalkapallojoukkueen punaista väriä, sopivaa Arsenal-fanille. Keltaistakin mahtui tähän värikkääseen taivaaseen. Kuukin on juustonkeltainen, hiukan hopeanväriäkin keltaisen joukossa. Tämän on varmaan auringonlaskun jälkeinen kevättaivas. Ylhäällä on vielä sinistä taivasta pilvien lomassa ja auringon viime valo näkyy keltaisena Emirates Stadiumin ja Lontoon kattojen yllä. Pientä viimeistelyä vielä...

The London sky was filled with a lot of Arsenal football team red, suitable for a Arsenal fan. . There was also some yellow in this colorful sky. The moon is also a cheese yellow, with a bit of silver among the yellow. This must be the spring sky after sunset. There is still blue sky above among the clouds and the last light of the sun is visible as yellow over the Emirates Stadium and the rooftops of London. Still needing little finishing touches...

Kolmas versio punaisesta Pispalan haulitorni -linopiirroksesta on kesäinen. Aurinko paistaa ja taivaalla leijailee muutama poutapilvi. Taivas on tehty pastelliväreillä. Haulitornin ikkunoista heijastuu hopeinen valo.

The third version of my linocut of Pispala Shot Tower is summery. The sun is shining and there are a few cumulus clouds floating in the sky. The sky was done with pastel colours. The light is reflecting on silvery windows of the tower.

Tässä toisessa versiossa punaisesta Pispalan haulitorni -linopiirroksesta on varmaan talvi. Taivas on tehty pastelliliiduilla ja se on tumma. Kuu on taivaalla, siinä välkkyy kimalletta, samoin kuin järven jäällä kuunsiltana.

This second version of my red linocut of Pispala Shot Tower there must be winter time. The sky is a pastel drawing, and it's dark. There is a moon in the sky, with some glitter on it and more glitter on the lake as a moon bridge.

Ensimmäinen uusi versio punaisesta Pispalan haulitorni -linopiirroksesta on valmis: lisäsin taivaalle väriä pastelliliiduilla. Järvellä välkkyy kimalletta, ja joku on vieläkin töissä tornissa. Vaikea määritellä, mikä vuodenaika tässä on kyseessä - veikkaan varhaistalvea.

The first  new version of my linocut of the red Pispala Shot Tower is ready: I added colour to the sky painting with pastels. On the lake there is some glitter, and someone is still working in the tower. Hard to define, which season of the year this is - I'm betting on the early winter.

PISPALAN HAULITORNI - UUSI VERSIO / PISPALA SHOT TOWER - NEW VERSION

Linopiirroksissa on se hyvä piirre, että niitä voi toistaa erilaisina versioina, eri värisinä, leikata paloja pois ja lisätä uusia palasia. Linopiirrokseni Pispalan haulitornista sai nyt vielä yhden uuden version - punaisena. Lisäsin linopiirrokseen tornista myös linopiirrokset Näsijärven saarista lisäämään perspektiivin tuntua. Nyt aikomukseni on lisätä kolmeen uuteen punaiseen torniin pastelliväreillä taivasta, eri värisinä, eri vuodenaikoina.

There is one good thing in linocuts: you can repeat it and make variation, using different colours, cutting pieces away or adding new pieces. I made still one new version of my linocut of Pispala Shot tower - the red one. I added to this lino also two small pieces of the shores of the lake Näsijärvi, so I got a bit more perspective to the picture. Now my aim is to use pastel colours and add to three red towers some sky, different colours, different seasons of the year.
