Martti Lehto (1933-2016) maalasi naivistisia kissoja, ja kuvissa usein toistui suomalainen ihannemaisema. Tässä on kaikki, mitä Martti Lehdon kissamaalaukseen tarvitaan: punainen tupa, koivuja, järvi, sininen taivas, poutapilvet ja kukkaketo. Yleensä kukkakedoissa toistuu vain yksi kukkalaji, päivänkakkara tai voikukka, mutta tässä kedossa on monenlaisia kukkia. Perspektiivin tuntu syntyy siitä, että kukat pienenevät horisonttiin. Kissoja on nyt kolme, ehkä äiti-kissa ja hänen kaksi poikastaan, joissa toistuvat äidin värit: musta ja valkoinen.

Martti Lehto (1933-2016) painted Naïve Art cats, and there was often repeated the Finnish ideal landscape in the pictures. Here you have all that is needed for Martti Lehto´s cat paining: a red cottage, birch trees, lake, blue sky, cumulus clouds and field of flowers. Usually there are only one kind of flowers: daisies or dandelions, but on this field there are many kind of flowers. The sense of perspective comes from the diminishing flowers towards the horizon. There are now three cats, perhaps the mother cat and her two kittens, repeating the colours of the mother: black and white.
