VÄRILLINEN REUNUS / COLOURED BORDER

Kokeilin reunuksen ja keskustan vedostamista erivärisinä linopiirroksessa "Perinteet velvoittavat". Vihreän reunuksen ja mustan keskustan värit sotkeutuivat vaikka miten oli tarkkana. Sitten oivalsin, että keskusta pitää leikata irti, levittää musta ja vihreä väri erikseen kumpaankin osaan ja yhdistää eriväriset osat vasta vedostusta varten. Näin reunuksen ja keskustan värit eivät sotkeennu keskenään. Tämä vaakuna-aiheinen linopiirros on ollut aikamoinen oppitunti! Mutta nyt voin vedostaa linon millaisella väriyhdistelmällä ikinä haluan.

I tested pulling of my linocut "Noblesse Oblige" so that the middle part and the border are in different colour. The colours of the green border and black center mingled up, even though I tried to be very precise. Then I realized, that I have to cut the middle part and the border apart, spread the colour separately on each part, and combine the different coloured parts finally for the printing. So the colours of the center part and the border don´t make a mess. This coat-of-arms-themed linocut really has been quite a learning lesson! But now I can pull this lino with any colour combination I want.
