One sizzling hot day in Tallinn, the parks at their best and a lot of art - what could be more rewarding! The first target was Mikkel Museum and its Pirosmani exhibition downstairs. Pirosmani (1862-1918) was a Georgian, self-thought Naïve artist, poster painter, who came famous after his death when the art circle in Paris started to admire Primitive artists. In the exhibition there was even a drawing of Pirosmani by Picasso. His paintings were rather dark, genuine clumsy, stiff and childlike. But the sincerity and authenticity of there works so typical for Naive Art still came trough. Upstairs there was a surprisingly large collection of art from ceramics and sculptures to paintings by Johannes Mikkel (1907-2006). The artists behind two quite beautiful Impressionist landscapes were Konrad Mägi and August Jansen. In a William Hogarth - styled painting from the 1700's a group of women took the pleasure out of their life, the name of the picture was A Midnight Modern Conversation.
