UKONKORENTOJA / BIG DRAGONFLIES

Kokeilut Gelli-printin kanssa jatkuvat. Nyt tein taustoja monoprinttinä linopiirrokselle ukonkorennosta. Osassa töistä on linopiirroksen alle lisätty keltaista tai ruskeaa mustetta. Osasssa ukonkorennon muoto on tehty painamalla sapluunaan tarttunut väri linopiirroksen pohjaksi. Osassa erilaisten kasvinosien muodot ovat jääneet näkyviin  ja olen niitä jossain kohdin korostanut värikynällä tai tussilla. Näiden sekatekniikkatöiden teko on hauskaa. Vähitellen näkee, miten taustan päälle kehittyy kuva ukonkorennosta. Näiden koko on 19 x 19 cm ja nyt ukonkorentoja on 15 erilaista versiota.

My experiments with Gelli print continue. Now I made backgrounds for my linoprint of a big dragonfly with Gelli printing. In some works I added yellow or brown ink under the wings before printing the dragonfly. Sometimes I printed the colour and shape of the dragonfly with a stencil before printing the linocut. In some pictures parts of leaves or plants have remained visible and I have highlighted them with some pencil or Indian ink. It is really fun to make these mixed media pictures. Little by little you see, how the picture of an dragonfly is appearing on the background. The size of these is 19 x 19 cm  and I now have 15 different versions of a big dragonfly.
