KATTIA KANSSA! / CAT'S WHISKERS!

Huomenna 2.10.2017 aukeaa Vehmaan kirjastossa pieni näyttelyni Kattia kanssa! -linopiirroksia Pispalasta ja kissoista. Näyttely on auki lokakuun ajan. Näyttelyä ehdotti kirjastotoimenjohtaja Sirpa Ikala-Suomalainen. Vuosikymmenet itsekin kirjastossa työtä tehneenä arvostan tosi paljon Sirpan työtä kirjastossaan, joka tuntuu olevan pienen Vehmaan kunnan kulttuurikeskus. Sirpa on saanut työt sopimaan hienosti kirjaston ympäristöön, hyllyihin ja galleriatilaan. Kirjaston lähellä on myös kiinnostava Oheistaidekoti, graafikko Outi Heiskasen kotitalo, jossa nyt on hänen 80-vuotisjuhlanäyttelynsä.

Tomorrow 2nd of October, 2017 opens my small solo exhibition Cat's Whiskers! (Kattia kanssa!) - linocuts of Pispala and cats in Vehmaa public library. The exhibition is open till the end of October. This exhibition was suggested to me by the library director Sirpa Ikala-Suomalainen. I have also worked in a library for decades, so I appreciate a lot Sirpa's work in her library, which seems to be a cultural center of this small community Vehmaa. Sirpa has nicely placed my works on the library shelves and the gallery space. There is also near the library an interesting gallery Oheistaidekoti, graphic artist Outi Heiskanen's home. There is now her 80th Anniversary exhibition.
