BACKLIGHT '17 -NÄYTTELY / EXHIBITION

Kansainvälinen valokuvatapahtuma Backlight Photo Festival Tampereen taidemuseossa on jo 30. kerta tapahtuman historiassa. Nyt näyttelyn teemana on Itsenäisyyden rajat. Näyttelyssä on paljon kuvia siirtolaisuudesta, kuvaajien kotimaan historiasta ja tulevaisuuden peloista. Kuvat ovat teknisesti korkeatasoisia. Daesung Leen isot lavastetut kuvat Mongoliaa uhkaavasta kuivuudesta koskettivat. Samoin Jaakko Kahilaniemen kasvikuvat. Huippu oli kuitenkin Juha Suonpään työryhmän videoinstallaatio IBIDEM. Videossa oli yhdistetty nykyisen Tampereen ja vuoden 1928 sisällissodan aikaiset kuvat Hämeenkadusta. Videon taustamusiikkikin oli vaikuttava.

Backlight Photo Festival - an international photography happening in Tampere Art Museum is already 30th in the history of the happening. The theme of the exhibition is now The Borders of Independence. There is a lot of photos of immigration, history of the photographers' homelands and the fears of the future. The photos are technically high-grade. Daesung Lee's large staged of the drought threatening Mongolia were very touching. The same with Jaakko Kahilaniemi's plant photos. The top experience was still Juha Suonpää & group's video installation IBIDEM. In this video they had combined pictures of the present pictures of Hämeenkatu (main street in Tampere) with pictures of Hämeenkatu from the time of the 1918 civil war. Even the background music of this video was spectacular.
