MONOPRINT

Kokeilin monoprintin ja linopiirroksen yhdistämistä. Tein A4-kokoisesta piirtoheitinkalvosta sapluunan linopiirroksen taustalle tulevalle alueelle, noin 15 x 15 cm ja erilliset kalvot linoleikkauksista (kaksi perhosta ja kuoriainen). Kiinnitin neliön mallisen sapluunan A4-paperille, kiinnitin perhos-kalvon paperille ja levitin telalla sinistä väriä, muutamissa väripohjissa suihkutin vesipisaroita värin päälle. Sitten irroitin sapluunan ja perhoskalvon. Paperille tuli näin neliönmallinen sininen pohja, jossa oli tyhjä paikka perhoselle. Lopuksi vedostin perhoslinon paperille ja lisäsin vielä hiukan kimalletta siipiin. Yllättävää oli, miten erilaisia siniset monoprintpohjat olivat.

I tested combining monoprint with linocuts. I made a stencil for the are on the background from a A4 sized overhead projector film, about 15 x 15 cm, and separate films of the three linocuts (two butterflies and a beetle). I attached the A4 stencil on a A4 sized paper, attached the film for a butterfly on the paper and spread blue colour with a roller spraying drops of water on some coloured grounds. Then I removed the stencil and butterfly film. Now I had a square blue ground on the paper with an empty space for the butterfly. Lastly I printed the butterfly on the paper and added some glitter on the wings. It was surprising how different the blue monoprint grounds were.
