Kissakortti: 93 / Cat Card: 93

Skottilaisen Elisabeth Blackadderin (s. 1931) etsaus Kikko matolla (Kikko on a Rug) on kaunis. Värit ovat pehmeitä: ruskeaa ja hiukan punaista. Matto on selvästi käsinkudottu, muistuttaa suomalaista ryijyä. Kuviot on hienosti kirjottu. Ja kissa on itseensä hyvin tyytyväinen, ruokaa maha täynnä ja hiukan uninen. Kissalla on hauskasti kaksivärinen naama ja tummat pilkut nenässä ja leuan alla.

Olen vuosien aikana kerännyt aikamoisen määrän kissakortteja. Museoiden kaupat ovat oikeita aarreaittoja kissakorttien kerääjälle. Useat korteistani ovat taidekortteja.

Scottish Elisabeth Blackadder´s (b. 1931) etching Kikko on a rug is beautiful. The colours are soft: brown and a bit red. The rug is clearly hand made, reminds me of Finnish rugs. The patterns are finely embroidered. And the cat is very self satisfied, belly full of food and a little drowsy. The cat has funnily two-coloured face, and the dark spots on the nose and under the chin.

I have collected quite a large number of cat cards over decades. Museum shops are treasure-troves for a cat card collector. Several of my cat cads are art cards.
