TÄYSIKUU PISPALAN YLLÄ / FULL MOON OVER PISPALA

Tein aiemmin linopiirroksen Pispalan rinteestä aikomuksena käyttää sitä isompien sekatekniikkatöiden alaosana. Nyt sain valmiiksi ensimmäisen tällaisen uuden Pispala-aiheisen kuvan, jossa yläosassa on iso keltainen täysikuu, sulkia ja lehtiä. Näissä sekatekniikkatöissä kiehtoo pastellipiirroksen ja linon yhdistelmä, ja tietenkin aiheena taivas ja pilvet. Tässä pastellitaivaassa on yö, pilvet ovat tummia ja jossain pilkahtaa pieniä oranssisia tähtiä. Kuu, sulat ja lehdet ovat irrallisia linopiirroksia. Lehtiin yhdistin mustaan väriin hiukan oranssia, kuin heijastuksia kuusta. Vedostin sulat ensin harmaalla värillä ja sen päälle mustalla, mikä tuo hiukan syvyysvaikutelmaa sulkiin.

I made earlier a linocut of Pispala ridge with an aim to use it as a bottom part of bigger mixed media works. The first of these new kinds of Pispala-themed pictures is now ready, on the upper part of the picture there is a yellow full moon, some feathers and leaves. I´m interested on the combination of pastel drawing and linocut in these mixed media works, and of course the subjects: the sky and clouds. On this pastel sky it is night time, the clouds are dark and here and there twinkles small orange stars. The moon, feathers and leaves are small separate linocuts. I put some orange colour on the leaves, like reflections of the moon. I printed the feathers first with gray colour and then black on top of it, which brings some depth to the feathers.
