Kissakortti:120 / Cat Card: 120

Hampurilaisen Kathia Bergerin öljymaalaus on vuodelta 1981 ja nimeltään  Minz ja Philipp im Blumenbogen (Minz ja Philipp kukkakaaren alla). Bergerille tyypillisesti tässä naivistisessa kuvassa on kissoja, musta ja valkoinen, paljon sinistä ja onhan siellä laivakin kuvana pienen rasian kannessa. Vaikka aihe on aika hempeä suloisine pikkulintuineen, tunnelma on jäykkä ja hiukan pelottavakin. Kissojen siniset silmät tuijottavat uhkaavasti ja takana oleva meri näyttää olevan jäätynyt. Ja kortissa on mustat reunat.

Olen vuosien aikana kerännyt aikamoisen määrän kissakortteja. Museoiden kaupat ovat oikeita aarreaittoja kissakorttien kerääjälle. Useat korteistani ovat taidekortteja.

Kathia Berger from Hamburg has painted this picture in 1981 and its called Minz and Philipp Under a Flower Arc (Minz ja Philipp im Blumenbogen). You can spot in this naïve picture some typical subjects in Berger's paintings: cats, here black and white ones, A lot of blue, and there is even the ship on the cover of a small box. Even though the subjects is quite sweet with little birds, the atmosphere is still rigid and a bit scary. The cats are staring with their menacing eyes, and the sea in the background seems to be frozen. And the card has black borders.

I have collected quite a large number of cat cards over decades. Museum shops are treasure-troves for a cat card collector. Several of my cat cads are art cards.
