LONDON'S CALLING

Linopiirros& pastelli London's Calling on nyt valmis. Linnut on lisätty viimeisinä, ja ne ovat pieniä erillisiä linoleimasimia. Kuvasta tuli aika dramaattinen. Taivas on tumma ja ison oranssin kuun ohi lentää parvi lintuja. Linnut tuntuvat säntäilevän sinne tänne, mikä taitaa muistuttaa nykyistä Brexit-sekoilua. Taivaanrannassa on uhkaava punainen sävy, kuin Lontoo olisi tulessa. Alaosan näkymä avautui hotellihuoneen ikkunasta.

The linocut & pastel drawing London´s Calling is now ready. The birds are added last, and they are small lino stamps. The picture turned out quite dramatic. The sky is dark, and a flock of birds are flying past the big orange moon. The birds seem to chase all over the place, which might remind me of the recent Brexit mess. There is a threatening red colour on the horizon, like London were on fire. The view at the bottom opened up from a window of a hotel room. 

LONDON´S CALLING - aloitusta / LONDON`S CALLING - Starting

Yksi uusi versio linopiirros & pastelli-töihin on linopiirrokseeni Lontoon katoista lisäämäni taivas ja linnut. Työn nimi on London's Calling The Clash-yhtyeen yhden kappaleen mukaan. Muistan Lontoon taivaan auringon laskiessa ja isot lintulaumat, jotka lentelivät kaikki hiukan eri suuntiin, mutta kuitenkin pysyen yhdessä isona parvena. Taivaanrannalle ilmestyi kuvaan aika dramaattinen punainen iltarusko. Kuu on oranssinvärinen. Linnut ovat vasta tulossa. 50 x 30 cm kokoisen kuvan alaosassa on  linopiirros ja samoin kuu on erillinen linopiiirros. Taivaan väritän pehmeillä kuivapastelleilla, etupäässä PanPastel-väreillä.

One new version to my series of linocut & pastel works is the sky and birds I added to my linocut of the roofs of London. The name of this work is London's Calling after a song by The Clash. I remember the sky over London when the sun was falling and the huge flocks of birds, which were flying like all to different directions but still remaining as a big flock. There came on the horizon quite a dramatic red sunset. Moon is orange. Birds are still coming along. There is a linocut on the bottom  of this 50 x 30 cm sized picture, and the moo n is also a separate linocut. I will colour the sky with soft pastels, mainly with PanPastels.
