TORNIEN TAISTO: YLÄOSA / BATTLE OF THE TOWERS: UPPER PART

 

Kaksi ylintä palasta neliosaisesta Tornien taisto -linopiirroksesta muodostavat kuvan Pispalan harjusta, jonka vasemmalla puolella lainehtii Näsijärvi ja oikealla Pyhäjärvi. Keskellä johtavat portaat harjun ylimmälle eli Pispan koulun kohdalle. Pispalan haulitorni ja kaksi pientä autoa Pyynikin näkötornin juurella on käsin väritetty. Tällainen aika leveä versio Tornien taistosta on oikeastaan aika kiva, voisin tehdä sen myös niin, että harjun yllä olisikin pastellitaivas. Kuvan koko on 20 x 60 cm.

Two upper parts of my four-part linocut  Battle Of the Towers form an image of the Pispala ridge with Näsijärvi waving on the left side and Pyhäjärvi on the right.  In the middle the stair are leading you to the highest peak of the ridge i.e. to Pispala School building. The Pispala shot tower and two small cars at the foot of the Pyynikki observation tower are hand coloured. This kind of wide version of the Battle Of the Towers is actually quite nice, and I could make it also with a pastel sky over the ridge. The size of the picture is 20 x 60 cm.

 

TORNIEN TAISTO: OIKEA / BATTLE OF THE TOWERS: RIGHT

Kaksi oikeapuoleista osaa vedostettuna neliosaisesta linopiirroksesta Tornien taisto näyttää tältä. Pyynikin näkötornin takana lainehtii Pyhäjärvi, ja jonkun luonnonoikun seurauksena Pyhäjärvi on myös Tahmelan kasvimaiden edessä. Hoppa-hyppyrimäki on jo purettu ja sen juurella ottaa kissa pienet nokoset. Kaksi pientä autoa näkötornin juurella on käsin väritetty. Linon koko on 40 x 30 cm.

Two right side parts of my linocut of Battle Of the Towers are printed here. Pyhäjärvi is waving behind Pyynikki observation tower, and as a result of some kind of natural whim Pyhäjärvi is seen also in front of Tahmela garden plots. Hoppa ie. Pyynikki jumping hill is already dismantled, and at the foot of it a cat taking a nap. Two small cards at the foot of Pyynikki tower are hand coloured. The size of this lino is 40 x 30 cm.

Neliosaisen linopiirroksen Tornien taisto kaksi vasemmanpuoleista osaa ovat tässä vedoksessa yhdessä. Kuvassa Pispalan portaat mielikuvituksen voimalla johdattavat Pyhäjärven rannasta Pispan koululle. Matkan varrelle jää monenlaista nähtävää: veneitä, keinu, korituoli, kasvimaita, Pispalan haulitorni ja Näsinneula. Tämän kuvan koko on 40 x 30 cm.

In this print there are together two pieces of the left side of my linocut Battle Of the Towers. In this picture the Pispala steps are leading you by the power of the imagination straight up from the shore of Pyhäjärvi to Pispa school. There is a lot to see by the steps: boats, a swing, rattan chair, garden plots, Pispala shot tower and Näsinneula. The size of this picture is 40 x 30 cm.

KAKSI TORNIA / TWO TOWERS

 

Tornien taisto-linopiirroksen oikea yläkulma on tässä. Siinäkin on kaksi tornia: Pyynikin hyppyrimäen eli Hopan torni ja Pyynikin torni. Jos aiempi Tornien taiston vasen yläkulma oli kuva harjulta Näsijärvelle niin tämä oikeanpuoleinen kulma on näkymä harjulta Pyhäjärvelle. Kaksi kuplafolkkaria kivisen Pyynikin tornin juurella on käsin väritetty. Linopiirroksen koko on 20 x 30 cm.

Here is the upper right corner of the linocut of Battle Of the Towers. This also has towers, two of them: the tower of Pyynikki jumping hill or Hoppa and Pyynikki observation tower. If the earlier left corner was a picture from the ridge to Näsijärvi, so this right corner is a view to Pyhäjärvi from the ridge. Two small cars at the foot of the Pyynikki tower are hand coloured. The size of this linocut is 20 x 30 cm.

KOLME TORNIA / THREE TOWERS

 Aiemmin tein neliosaisen Tornien taisto-linopiirroksen. Nyt päätin vedostaa tämän linon  eri osat erikseen tai yhdessä. Ensimmäisenä on vasen yläkulma, jossa on kolme tornia: Siilinkarin majakka, Pispalan haulitorni ja Näsinneula. Ehkä Pispan koulunkin voii ymmärtää torniksi, onhan se harjun korkeimmalla kohdalla. Haulitorni on käsin väritetty ja kuvan koko on 20 x 30 cm.

I made earlier a linocut called Battle Of the Towers. Now I decided to print diffrent part of this lino separately or together. First is here the upper left corner with three towers: Siilinkari lighthouse, Pispala shot tower and Näsinneula. Perhaps even Pispa School might be called a tower because it is situated on the highest spot of the ridge. The shot tower is hand coloured, and the size of the picture is 20 x 30 cm.
