Värillisiä kissametsä - linopiirroksia on nyt useampi erilainen versio. Tosi vaikea on valita yksi kehystettäväksi ja esille yhteen näyttelyyn - vaaleampi vai kirkkaamman värinen? Siinäpä pulma. Nappasin pieniä videoita tätä aika isoa linoa, 40 x 60 cm vedostaessa. Kuva on oikeastaan koottu neljästä erillisestä A4-kokoisesta linopiirroksesta, jotka ennen musteen levittämistä on teipattu yhteen. Musteen levittäminen telalla on tärkeä työvaihe. Mustetta pitää olla riittävästi, jotta tummatkin kohdat tulostuvat yhtenäisinä eikä tuhruisina. Mustetta ei kuitenkaan saa olla liikaa, jolloin piienet viivat tukkiutuvat. Käytän vesiliukoista linoväriä ja kovaa telaa.

There are now several different versions of Coloured Cat Forest linocuts. It´s really hard to decide one of them for framing and an exhibition - lighter or brighter colour? That´s a question. I snapped short videos making this quite large linocut, 40 x 60 cm. The picture is actually a combination of four A 4 -sized separate linocut, which are taped together before spreading the ink. Spreading the ink with a roller is a really important operation. There have to be enough of ink, so that even the darker areas will print solid and not patchy. Still, there must not be too much ink, so that the smaller lines will clog. I use water soluble lino ink and hard roller.
