Kissoilla on tapana löytää hyvä lekottelupaikka kaiken keskeneräisen työn päältä tai vierestä. Kissoja on nähty luettavan lehden tai kirjan päällä, tieto- tai kirjoituskoneen näppäimistöllä, kenkien päällä ja petaamattomilla lakanoilla. Mikä on tällaisen toiminnan tarkoitus? Haluaako kissa keskeyttää sen, mitä olet tekemässä, olla mukana puuhassasi tai vain herättää huomiota. Tässä Lesley Fotherbyn (s. 1946) kuvassa kissa on löytänyt hyvän paikan kesken olevan ompelustyön päältä. Kaavapaperi rapisee mukavasti, mutta vaarana voivat olla nuppineulat tai terävät sakset.

Cats usually find a nice place for a nap beside or on top of an unfinished work. We have seen cats on an open newspaper or book, on computer or type, writer keyboards, on shoes and unmade beds. What is the purpose of this kind of behavior? Does the cat interrupt something you are doing, be part of your chores or just wishing that you would pay some attention. In this picture by Lesley Fotherby ( b. 1946) the cat has found a good place on top of an unfinished sewing project. The tracing paper is rustling nicely, but the danger might be there too: pins or sharp scissors.
