WAROUXIN LINNA / WAROUX CASTLE

Warouxin linnassa Belgiassa on joka toinen vuosi syksyisin iso naivistisen taiteen yhteisnäyttely - Naïve & Singular Art Biennial. Olin mukana parilla työllä vuonna 2018, ja pääsen taas mukaan tänä vuonna. No, tietenkin sillä ehdolla että coronapandemia sen sallii. Tänä vuonna Warouxin linnan näyttelyn pitäisi olla auki 11.9. - 25.10.2020. Toivotaan, että näyttely vielä toteutuu. En ole käynyt Warouxin linnassa Liègessä, mutta muutama kuva siitä on internetissä. Linnan malli on mielenkiintoinen -ympyrälinna. Tietenkin sen malli ja ikkunoiden kuviot alkoivat elää mielikuvituksessa. Siispä kaiversin A4-kokoisen linopiirroksen Warouxin linnasta. Eri materiaalien kuvioinnit linnan seinässä kiehtoivat, mutta ensin kuvasta tuli liian tumma. Kaiversin sitten linnan seinät vaaleammiksi, ja nyt kuva alkaa näyttää siltä, mitä kuvittelin.

Every other year there is a large Naïve Art group exhibition at Waroux castle in Belgium - Naïve & Singular Art BienniaI. I participated with a couple of works in 2018, and I´m going to participate again this year. Well, if only the corona pandemic allows of course. This year the Waroux Castle exhibition should be open from September, 11th to October, 25th. Let´s hope that this exhibition will still work out. I have not visited Waroux Castle in Liège, but there are a few photos of the castle in the Internet. The shape of the castle is interesting - a round castle. Of course the shape of the castle and the patterns of its windows started to live in my imagination. So I carved an A4 sized linocut of the castle of Waroux. Different materials on the walls of the castle were intriguing, but at first the picture became too dark. Then I carved the castle walls lighter, and now the picture seems a bit like I imagined it to be.
