L'échiquier (Chessboard) is called this Bruno Maso's cat card. A black cat with yellow eyes is lurking on a white square. It is totally useless to threaten this cat!
I have collected quite a large number of cat cards over decades. Museum shops are treasure-troves for a cat card collector. Several of my cat cads are art cards.
