Amerikkalaisen Bruce Davidsonin (s. 1933) kaunis valokuva "Tyttö pitelee kissanpentua" on otettu vuonna 1960. Vuonna 2011 Davidson yritti etsiä kuvan tytön nimeä ja tietoja hänestä. Davidson oli tavannut tytön ohimennen Lontoossa ja käynyt tämän ystävien kanssa jossain konsertissa kysymättä tytön nimeä. Tietoja tytöstä ei tainnut koskaan löytyä, sillä kortti on ostettu vuonna 2012 Lontoon Tate Museumin näyttelystä, joka kertoi Lontoon katuelämästä valokuvin. Tämä kuva oli näyttelyn "tähti" ilman tietoa tytön nimestä. Kuvassa on jotain hyvin herkkää, haikeaa, viatonta ja optimistista. Vai onko tyttö karannut kotoa? Patja on rullalla selässä ja sylissä ehkä kadulta löydetty kissanpentu, jonka kaulassa on pätkä narua. 1960-luku oli aluillaan, elämä koettiin spontaanisti, uhmakkaasti ja ennakkoluulottomasti.

Olen vuosien aikana kerännyt aikamoisen määrän kissakortteja. Museoiden kaupat ovat oikeita aarreaittoja kissakorttien kerääjälle. Useat korteistani ovat taidekortteja.

American Bruce Davidson´s (b. 1933) beautiful photograph "Girl Holding Kitten" was taken in 1960. In 2011 Davidson tried to find the girl or some information about her. Davidson met the girl briefly in London and went to a concert with the friends of this girl but never even asked her name. Perhaps he never found any information about the girl, because this card was bought in 2012 from Tate Museum´s exhibition about London street life in photographs. This picture was the "star" of the exhibition without the name of the girl. There is something very tender, wistful, innocent and optimistic in the picture. Or has the girl run away from home? A mattress is rolled on her back, and she is holding a kitten perhaps found in the street. There is a piece of string around the kitten´s neck. The Sixties was beginning, life was experienced spontaneously, defiantly and open-minded.

I have collected quite a large number of cat cards over decades. Museum shops are treasure-troves for a cat card collector. Several of my cat cads are art cards.
