PÄÄSKYNEN / SWALLOW

Viides linopiirroslintu monotypia-pohjalla on pääskynen. Kuvan koko on 15 x 15 cm.

The fifth linocut bird on a monotype base is a swallow. My stencil, which I used to leave a white space when tprinting the monotype, was perhaps too big. When printing the swallow, quite a lot of white remained on the edges of the bird. I think I will use colored pencils or pastels to "beautify" the image a little by blurring those edges. I think the edges of the swallow's tail are funny, they go a little outside the image. The size of the image is 15 x 15 cm.

HAARAPÄÄSKY / SWALLOW

Vanhempi linopiirrosreunus ympäröi nyt kahta linopiirrosta haarapääskystä monoprintillä. Toinen reunus on vedostettu mustalla ja toinen pronssivärillä. Yksi, jossa on uusi ruusukuvioinen reunus meni jo Art Pispalan näyttelyyn.

The older linocut border is surrounding now two linocuts od swallows on monoprints. The other one is printed with black ink, and the other one with copper ink. One with a new rose-patterned border went already to an exhibition at Art Pispala.

PIENIÄ LINTUJA / SMALL BIRDS

Linoleikkaukseen Pispalan harjulta halusin kanahaukan seuraksi muutaman pienemmän linnun. Tein pienet linoleikkaukset harakasta, rastaasta ja parista pääskysestä. Nehän siellä aina pyrähtävät pakoon kun taivaalle ilmestyy kanahaukka.

I wanted a couple of smaller birds to accompany the goshawk in my linocut of Pispala Ridge. I made small linocuts of a magpie, thrush and a couple of swallows. These always sprint to the flight when they see a goshawk appearing to the sky.
