TAIVAS VÄLKKYVÄISIN JALOKIVIN / SPARKLING JEWELS OF THE SKY

 

Taivas on syvän sinistä pehmeää pastellia. Taivaanrannassa viipyy vielä päivän kellertävä kajo.Pieni parvi pääskysiä lentää Pispalan ylitse. Alaosan Pispala-maisema portaineen, iso kuparinvärinen kuu ja pääskyset ovat linopiirroksia. Pieni pyöreä kuun kaksonen on usein taivaanrannassa näkyvä iso tähti eli planeetta Venus. Taivaalla näkyy myös pyöreän mallinen seitsemän tähden  sikermä, tahdenlento. Kuvan koko on 50 x 30 cm ja nimen se sai V.A.Koskenniemen runosta. "Taivas välkkyväisin jalokivin omaa ylhäisyyttään vartioi".

The sky is a deep blue soft pastel. The yellowish light of the day still lingers on the horizon. A small flock of swallows flies over Pispala. The Pispala landscape with its steps, the large copper-colored moon and the swallows in the lower part are linocuts. The small round moon's twin is the large star often seen on the horizon, i.e. the planet Venus. A round constellation of seven stars, shooting stars, can also be seen in the sky. The size of the picture is 50 x 30 cm and it got its name from V.A. Koskenniemi's poem. "The Sky Quards Its Own Nobility with Sparkling Jewels".
