PISPALAN FASAANI / THE PHEASANT OF PISPALA

 

Pienehkö (15 x 10 cm) linopiirros Pispalasta puutaloineen ja portaanpätkineen sisältää myös pari usein Pispalassa näkemääni: fasaanin ja kottikärryt. Fasaanin äänen kuulee usein Tahmelan kasvimaan tienoilla ja siellähän niitä riitää kottikärryjäkin. Fasaania on hiukan väritetty ja sen tausta on harmaa. Aikomukseni on tehdä ainakin neljä tällaista pientä Pispalalinoa, jotka voin yhdistää toisiinsa. Tämä on toinen järjestyksessä. Linopiirroksen nimeksi valikoitui muutama sana Juice Leskisen runosta: "Rakensin talon, tein siitä maailman, kodin ja piilopirtin."

A rather small (15 x 10 cm) linocut of Pispala with its wooden houses and a section of stairs also includes a couple of things I often see in Pispala: a pheasant and a wheelbarrow. The sound of a pheasant can often be heard around the Tahmela vegetable gardens, and there are plenty of wheelbarrows there too. The pheasant has been slightly colored and its background is gray. I intend to make at least four such small Pispalalinos, which I can connect to each other. This is the second in a row. The linocut's title was chosen from a few words from Juice Leskinen's poem: "I built a house, I made it a world, a home and a hideaway."
