Kolmas linopiirroslintu monotypia-pohjalla on rastas. Yleensä olen taustaa tehdessä jättänyt linopiirrokselle sapluunalla valkoisen kohdan. Jos sen kohdan reunoja ei pehmennä, minusta reunat ovat liian teräväreunaiset. Jos linopiirroksen vedostaa vaikka hiukan pieleen, näkyviin tulee valkoista pohjaa. Kokeilinkin näiden rastaiden kanssa pohjan häivyttämistä jättämällä hiukan väriä sapluunan alle. Ihan hyvin se toimii.

The third linocut bird on a monotype base is a thrush. When I make a background, I usually leave a white spot for the linocut with a stencil. If the edges of that spot are not softened, I find the edges too sharp-edged. If the linocut is printed even slightly wrong, a white background will appear. I also tried fading the background with these thrushes by leaving a little color under the stencil. It works quite well.
