Kissakortti: 620 / Cat Card: 620

 

Raitainen kissa tuijottaa herkeämättä eteensä, pikarillista viiniäkö? Vieressä olisi kananmuna, ehkä kissalle vaikea syödä lusikalla. Maalaus on englantilaisen E. Morleyn "Trespassers  Surprised / Tunkeilijat yllätetty" (noin 1829). Kortin kuva on osa isompaa maalausta. Ja siitä huomaamme, että se mitä kissa tarkkailee, onkin kaksi hiirtä. Pöydällä on mahtavan kokoinen juusto, leipää ja enemmänkin kananmunia. Tästä tilanteesta on tulossa kaaos.

A striped cat stares steadily ahead, a glass of wine? There would be an egg next to it, perhaps difficult for the cat to eat with a spoon. The painting is "Trespassers Surprised" (c.1829) by the Englishman E. Morley. The picture on the card is part of a larger painting. And from it we see that what the cat is observing are actually two mice. On the table is a huge piece of cheese, bread and more eggs. This situation is becoming chaotic.
