Sampo Apajalahti |
**************
We stopped by on a trip to Turku at Logomo's international contemporary art exhibition. And this is one of the best contemporary art exhibitions I've seen. The hanging is great as long as you progress from the lavish abundance of the lobby to the old huge factory hall to the "rooms" built with the help of wall panels. Of course, there are abstract and large works, but also more. The whole of almost a hundred works is uniform, even though there are many styles and techniques. I really liked Sampo Apajalahti's paintings and collages, and there are also hints of comic strips (David Salle), romantic landscapes (Petri Ala-Maunus), graphic style (Osmo Rauhala), lots of colors (e.g. Heikki Marila, Eemil Karila), photographs (Liu Susiraja), portraits (Mustafa Maluka) and funny ceramic sculptures (Luis Vidal and Jasmin Anoschkin). You will leave this exhibition happy and experienced. Hey, almost the same can be said about Iittala's naive exhibition!
