Kissakortti: 531 / Cat Card: 531

 

Margareta Backmanin herkässä hiilipiirroksessa jänis kuiskaa jotakin kissan korvaan. Muistot lainehtivat mieleen, kun luin kortin viestin. Ensimmäinen pomoni Ester oli lähettänyt kortin Siuntion  kylpylästä marraskuussa 1986. Hän kertoi ylenmääräisistä hoidoista, uimisesta ja syömisestä. Mutta sitten hän mainitsee, että hänen ystävänsä Aino P. oli lähettänyt kopion paikallisesta lehdestä (Aamulehdestä), jossa mainittiin että asia/virka, jota olin jjuuri hakenut (ja johon minut oli ehdotettu valittavaksi) oli pyydetty kaupunginhallituksessa pöydälle. Esterin mielestä se oli raivostuttavaa, ja koskihan se minuunkin. Mutta minut valittiin kuitenkin siihen virkaan, ja siitähän alkoi mielenkiintoinen aika pääkirjasto Metsossa.

My first boss, Ester, had sent the card from the Siuntio spa in November 1986. She told about the abundant treatments, swimming and eating. But then he mentions that his friend Aino P. had sent a copy of the local newspaper (Aamulehti), which mentioned that the position I had just applied for (and for which I had been proposed to be elected) had been asked to be tabled in the city council. Ester thought it was infuriating, and it affected me too. But I was still elected to the position, and that was the start of an interesting time for me at the new main library Metso.
