KAUNEIMMAT KOULUTAULUT / MOST BEAUTIFUL EDUCATIONAL BOARDS

Vanhojen koulutaulujen tarkoitus oli kertoa oppilaille kasveista, eläimistä, vanhoista työtavoista, vieraista maista, politiikasta ja uskonnosta kuvien avulla. Tämä oli aikaa ennen Internetiä. Työväenmuseo Werstaan näyttelyn koulutaulut ovat Kuurojen museon kokoelmista. Itse en muista omista alakouluajoista kuin joitakin eläin- ja kasviaiheisia tauluja. Mutta yhden kiinalaisaiheisen kuvan tunnistin - sama kuva oli opiskeluaikojeni kämpissä. Silloin en tunnistanut kuvaa opetustauluksi, sillä sen oli joku kehystänyt kun ostin taulun kirpputorilta. Nostalgia iski, ja kaivoin taulun esille autotallin takaa varastosta. Siellähän oli myös iso opetustaulu liito-oravasta, jota en ollenkaan muistanut omistavani. Näissä koulutauluissa on yleensä kauniit syvät värit. Ei ihme, että ne ovat olleet ja ovat edelleen sisustajien suosiossa.

The purpose of old educational boards has been to tell pupils about plants, animals, old

manual labor, strange lands, politics, and religion. This was before the Internet. The educational boards in the exhibition in The Finnish Labour Museum Werstas, Tampere are from the collection of The Museum of Deaf. I remember myself from my school times only some plant and animal boards. But one Chinese-themed board in the exhibition I recognized immediately, because the same picture had been hanging on the wall of my student digs. At that time I didn't know it was a school board, because someone had framed it before I bought in some flea market. Nostalgia stroke, and I fished it out from the storage behind the garage. And there I found also another old school board of a flying squirrel that I didn't even remember I owned. Usually these old school boards have beautiful deep colours. Its no wonder, that they are still favored by decorators.
