MIEHET - NÄYTTELY / MEN - EXHIBITION

Antti Laitinen

"Miehet - onko tunteita?" on Tampereen taidemuseon näyttelyn nimi. Nimen aiheuttama ennakkoluulo ei näyttelyssä kokonaan kadonnut. Näyttely oli aika sekava eikä ainakaan ylentävä. Kyllä miestaiteilijatkin pystyisivät paremmin kuvaamaan tunteitaan. Nyt minua koskettivat eniten näyttelyn ainoan naistaiteilijan Anne Koskisen (s. 1969) kiviveistokset eläimistä ja ihmishahmoista. Samoin Antti Laitisen (s. 1975) umpeen naulatut puupölkyt nousivat muiden teosten yläpuolelle. Näissä pölkyissä on tosiaan jotain miesmäistä, tunteet on naulattu kiinni kuoren sisälle, ja yksi pölkyistä oli uhmakkaasti haljennut.
Mahtaako seuraavan näyttelyn nimi olla "Naiset - onko järkeä?".

"Men - Any Feelings?" is the name of the exhibition in Tampere Art Museum. The prejudice caused by the name did not at least totally vanish in this exhibition. The exhibition was rather confusing and not very uplifting. Even men artists could surely portray their feelings better. Now I was touched by the stone sculptures of animals and human figures by Anne Koskinen (b. 1969) - the only female artist in the exhibition. Also the totally nailed wood chumps by Antti Laitinen (b. 1975) surfaced above the other art works. There really is something manly is these chumps, feelings have been nailed inside the core, and one of the chumps has defiantly cracked open. Perhaps the name of the next exhibition will be "Women - any sense?"
