Cat Art Show Los Angeles 2014

Jos asuisin Amerikassa, tämä olisi ollut ihan pakko nähdä: Cat Art Show Los Angeles. Näyttely on jo ohi, mutta oli varmaan näkemisen arvoinen. Susan Michals oli kuratoinut tämän villin näyttelyn. Kymmenien taiteilijoiden joukossa on tuttuja (mm. Tracey Emin) ja iso joukko tuntemattomampia. Mitään vannoutuneita kissojen ihailijoita kaikki tekijät eivät ole. Kissat vain ovat inspiroineet heitä jollain kissamaisella tyylillään. Joukosta löytyy myös tekijöitä, joiden tyyli on hyvin lähellä naivismia. Tällä muutama minua näyttelyssä viehättänyt kuva Time-lehteä ja nettiä selattuani.

If I would be living in America, this would have been an exhibition I just had to see: Cat Art Show Los Angeles. The exhibition is over already, but surely it must have been well worth to see. Susan Michals was the curator of this wild exhibition. There are some familiar artists (for example Tracey Emin) among tens of artists, and a bunch of more unfamiliar names. All the artists are not always sworn cat lovers. Cats have just inspired them in some feline manner. There are even some artists who´s style is very near naïve art. Here are some pictures that I admired reading Time magazine and browsing the Net.
