KISSA PATTERILLA 3 / CAT ON RADIATOR 3

Miten voi ollakin vanhanaikaisen lämpöpatterin kaivertaminen linoleumille näin hankalaa. Aihe kissasta nukkumassa lämpimällä patterilla innosti, ja teinkin tästä pari linoleikkausta aiemmin. En ollut tyytyväinen niihin, mutta eipä oikein tulos parantunut kun kokeilin kolme versiota lisää. Patterien välit ovat liian isot. Ei oikein toiminut mustat patterit eikä valkoisetkaan. Eikä toiminut kissakaan mustana tai valkoisena.Tämän linoleikkauksen haaste on ilman muuta tuo mustan ja valkoisen vastakohtaisuus. Nyt saa tämä aihe jäädä odottamaan ensi talven pakkasia ja kunnon tunnelmaa tälle aiheelle.

How can it be so tricky to carve an old fashioned radiator on a piece of linoleum. The subject of a cat sleeping on a warm radiator inspired, and I made two linocuts of this subject earlier. I was not satisfied with any of them, but the result is not any better when I tried three new versions more. The spacing between the parts of the radiators are too broad. The black radiator or the white radiator did not quite work out. And also it did not work out if the cat is white or black. The challenge in this linocut is exactly the contrast between black and white. Now this subject can wait next winter´s frost and a suitable feeling for this subject.
