Linopiirros / pastelli "Keltainen kissa ja taivas" on valmis. Reunojen maalarinteipit vielä pitää poistaa. Saattaapa olla, että tällaisia taivaspastelleja tulee vielä pari lisää.

Linocut / pastel "Yellow Cat and Sky" is ready. The masking tapes around the picture will be removed. It might be, that some day there will couple more of these sky pastels.

Pyhäjärven ylle alkoi kerääntyä tummia pilviä. On siellä pilvien joukossa vähän pinkkiäkin. Mutta taivaanranta on valoisempi. Taivas on pastellipiirros, ja yritin olla sotkematta perhosille ja sudenkorennolle (linopiirroksia) varattuja paikkoja.

Dark clouds started to gather over the lake Pyhäjärvi. There is still a little bit of pink among the clouds. But the horizon is brighter. The sky is a pastel drawing, and I tried to be careful and not smudge the places reserved for linocuts of butterflies and a dragonfly.

KELTAINEN KISSA JA TAIVAS / YELLOW CAT AND SKY

Aloin tehdä taas yhtä uutta versiota taivaasta ja pilvistä Pispalan harjun yllä. Kuvassa on viisi linopiirrosta: näkymä Pispalan harjulta Pyhäjärvelle, kissa, kaksi perhosta ja sudenkorento. Ennen erillisen kissan vedostusta väritin sabluunalla kissan kohdan keltaisella musteella. Taivas ja pilvet on tarkoitus toteuttaa pastellipiirustuksena. Peitin erillisten pienten linojen kohdat paperista tai piirtoheitinkalvosta leikatuilla kuvioilla.

I started a new version of clouds and sky over the Pispala ridge. There is five separate linocuts in this picture: the view from the Pispala Ridge to Lake Pyhäjärvi, a cat, two butterflies and a dragonfly. Before printing the separate cat I coloured with yellow ink the place of the cat using a stencil. I plan to paint the sky and clouds with pastel colours. I covered the places for the separate linos with small stamps cut from paper or transparent film.
