LINTU MURTAA ILMOJEN HILJAISUUDEN / A BIRD BREAKS THE SILENCDE OF THE AIR

 

Kesän näyttelyt on saatu auki, joten nyt on aikaa rauhassa hiukan tutkailla vanhempiakin  linopiirroksiaan. Joku aika sitten tein kaksi tai oikeastaan kolme versiota Pispalan rinteestä joukosta A4-kokoisia palasia, jotka suunnittelin sopimaan yhteen. Osaa noista palasista en ole vedostanut edes yksinään. Mutta nyt aloin tehdä rastiin jääneitä töitä. Ensimmäisenä vedostin tämän A4-kokoisen talorykelmän, ja väritin ylärinteen talojen ikkunoihin valot. Nimeksi kuva sai Väinö Kirstinän runosta: "Lintu murtaa ilmojen hiljaisuuden".

The summer exhibitions have opened, so now I have time to explore my older linocuts a bit. Some time ago I made two or actually three versions of Pispala's ridge from a set of A4-sized pieces that I planned to fit together. I haven't even printed some of those pieces on their own. But now I started doing the works that were left on the list. First I printed this A4-sized cluster of houses, and colored the lights in the windows of the houses on the upper slope. The picture was named after Väinö Kirstinä's poem: "A Bird Breaks the Silence Of the Air".
