Ranskalaisen kissa- ja koiramaalarina tunnetun Louis Eugene Lambertin (1825 - 1900) maalauksessa "Kisssanpoikien juhla" äitikissa katselee hiukan huolestuneena, mitä kissanpoikaset puuhaavat juhlapyödällä. Juhla on vasta aluillaan. Lautasilla on herkkuja, paitsi tuo yksi lautanen, jota pari kissanpoikaa katselee, on tyhjä. Kynttilanjalassa roikkuu punainen naamio ja taustalla on iso peili tai taulu. Tunnelma muistuttaa hiukan Edouard Manetin maalausta Folies-Pergèren baarista.

French Louis Eugene Lambert's (1825-1900) was known from his cat and dog paintings and in his painting "Kittens At the Banquet," a mother cat watches with some concern what the kittens are doing at the festive table. The feast is just beginning. There are delicacies on the plates, except for the one plate that the couple of kittens are looking at, which is empty. A red mask hangs on a candlestick and there is a large mirror or painting in the background. The atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of Edouard Manet's painting of the bar at the Folies-Pergère.
