Oikealla kuvan yläsivussa on hiiren oviaukko. Sieltä hiiri on tullut ulos ja iso kissa on vanginnut sen hännän tassunsa alle. Hiiri anoo polvillaan pääsyä takaisin kotikoloonsa. Mahtaako tuo onnistua? Kissalla on naamallaan varsinainen Cheshire-virne kuin Liisa Ihmemaassa -kirjan kissalla puussa. Kaikki hampaat näkyvät ja vihreät silmät kiiluvat. Mutta vain hiiren hännän päällä olevan tassun kynnet ovat näkyvissä. Kissan epätavallinen sininen turkki ja keltainen parkettilattia muodostavat hienon väriskaalan. Naivistinen maalaus on Stig Janssonin (s. 1936).

On the right upper side there is the doorway of the mouse. The mouse has come out from there and the big cat has captured his tail under her paw. The mouse is begging on his knees for re-entry to his home. Might that be possible?  The cat has on her face a real Cheshire smile like the cat on a tree branch in the book Alice in Wonderland. All the teeth are visible and the green eyes are gleaming. But the nails are out only on the paw over the mouse´s tail. The unusual blue fur and the yellow parquet floor are forming a fine colour scale. This Naïve Art painting was done by Stig Jansson (b. 1936).
