David Hockneyn (s. 1937) alkuperäinen maalaus Mr. and Mrs. Clark and Percy on valtavan kokoinen, yli kolme metriä leveä. Työ on tehty vuosina 1969-1971. Herra ja rouva Clark poseeraavat vastavalossa aika muodollisesti ja katsovat suoraan eteenpäin muodostaen katsojan kanssa kuin kolmion. Percy on kissa, joka tarkkaavaisena katsoo ikkunasta ulos ja on kääntänyt selkänsä katsojalle. Kissan turkin valkoinen toistuu liljoissa, puhelimessa ja omituisessa lampussa lattialla. Jotenkin tästä Hockneyn avioliittosarjan maalauksen tunnelmasta voisi aavistaa, että liitto ei kestänyt.

The original painting by David Hockney (b. 1937) is huge, over three meters wide. The work was done between 1969 and 1971. Mr. and Mrs. Clark are posing backlit rather formally and they are looking straight ahead creating a triangle with the spectator. Percy is the cat, and it is watching attentively out from the window turning its back to the spectator. The white colour of the cat´s fur is repeated in the lilies, phone and strange lamp on the floor. You could somehow foresee from the atmosphere in  this Hockney´s painting in the series of marriages that this marriage did not last.
