LONTOON KADUNKULMA / LONDON STREET CORNER

Toinen linopiirros Lontoosta on myös katunäkymä. Tällainen seinien, kattojen ja savupiippujen näkymä on kadunkulmasta lähellä British Museumia. Tässä kulmassa on usein istuttu ja annettu ajan kulua. Ikävä Lontooseen tuntuu nyt aikaisempaa haikeammalta kun seuraa onnetonta Brexit-ilveilyä, valtapolitiikkaa ja outoja käsityksiä Euroopasta ja Britanniasta. Totisesti toivon, että Remain-kanta voittaisi! Kulttuurin kannalta Brexitin ajatukset tuntuvat ainakin pahaenteisiltä, näyttelyjen, konserttien ja kaikenlaisen uuden kehittämisen väheneminen uhkaa.

My second linocut of London is also a street view. You can see this kind of scene of walls, roofs and chimneys on a street corner near the British Museum. On this corner we have often sat and watched the time go by. I´m missing London more wistfully than before now when I follow the miserable Brexit farce, power politics and strange beliefs about Europe and United Kingdom. I sincerely hope, that the Remain opinion would be winning! At least in the terms of the culture the ideas of Brexit feel ominous, there is a risk of shrinkage of art exhibitions, concerts and all kind of new developments.
