BANKSIDE GALLERY - LOOP2017 -NÄYTTELY / EXHIBITION

Bankside Galleryn toinen näyttely LOOP2017 Artists in Print oli juuri aukeamassa. LOOP on vapaa ryhmä graafikoita, jotka ovat pitäneet yhteisnäyttelyjä Banksidella jo useana vuonna. Nyt mukana oli 26 tekijää ja iso joukko erilaisia tekniikoita: metalligrafiikkaa, silkkipainoa, monoprinttejä, valokuvausta hyödyntäviä tekniikoita, installaatio ja linopiirroksia. Nämä näyttelyn linot saivat haukkomaan henkeä. Työt olivat suuria, täynnä yksityiskohtia, osassa väriäkin. Hienot englantilaisen linopiirroksen perinteet näkyivät Anna Alcockin, Andrew Carterin ja Richenda Courtin linopiirroksissa. Paikalla oli näyttelyä esittelemässä Frank Dolphin, yksi taiteilijoista, ja olihan hauska juttuhetki hänen kanssaan grafiikasta - onnea näyttelylle!

The second exhibition at Bankside Gallery was just opening: LOOP2017 Artists in Print. Loop is an informal co-operative of graphic artists, and they have had already several group exhibitions. Now there were exhibiting 26 artists and a lot of different techniques: metal graphics, silk screen, monoprint, techniques utilizing photography, an istallation and linocuts. The linos in this exhibition made you grasp your breath. The art works were large, full of details, some many-coloured. The fine English tradition in linocutting were visible in  Anna Alcock's, Andrew Carter's ja Richenda Court's works. There happened to be present Frank Dophin, one of the artists introducing this exhibition, and what a nice chat we had about graphic art - good luck for the exhibition!
