Kissakorttien kokoelmasta: 55 / From Cat Card Collection: 55

Englantilaisen naivistin Martin Lemanin kissakortti "The Squatter" (Asunnonvaltaaja) on vuodelta 1979. Keltainen kissa on ahtautunut lipaston laatikkoon. Lemanille tyypillisesti kuvasta löytyy paljon yksityiskohtia ja kuvioita: tapetti, lattia, kaksi hiusharjaa, kukkamaljakko ja pitsiliina. Kissa ei näytä oikein viihtyvän ahtaassa laatikossa.

Olen vuosien aikana kerännyt aikamoisen määrän kissakortteja. Museoiden kaupat ovat oikeita aarreaittoja kissakorttien kerääjälle. Useat korteistani ovat taidekortteja.

English Naïve artist Martin Leman`s cat card "The Squatter" is from the year 1979. The yellow cat has squeezed himself into a drawer of a dresser. Typical for Leman there are many details in the picture: wallpaper, floor, two hair brushes, flower vase and lace tablecloth. The cat does not seem to feel quite at home in a narrow drawer.

I have collected quite a large number of cat cards over decades. Museum shops are treasure-troves for a cat card collector. Several of my cat cads are art cards.
