SEKAISIN / TANGLED

 

Löysin kaapistani 27 x 27 cm kokoisen laatikkokehyksen, joka olikin ihan sopiva tälle linopiirros- ja kirjontatyölle. Lankojen tupsuille on laatikossa tilaa eivätkä ne litisty. Narut on virkattu ja kiinnitetty ohuella ompelulangalla paperille. Kissa on linopiirros ja tausta monotypiaa. Tämä kissa on "Sekaisin".

 I found a 27 x 27 cm box frame in my closet, which was perfect for this linocut and embroidery work. There is room in the box for the thread tassels and they will not flatten. The strings are crocheted and attached to the paper with thin sewing thread. The cat is a linocut and the background is a monotype. This cat is "Tangled".

NARUA / STRING

 

Jo aika kauan sitten tein monotypian; johon vedostin hiukan väriä taustaalle ja naruista kiemurtelevan kuvion. Monoprintin päälle vedostin linopiirrroksen hyppäävästä kissasta. Minusta tulos ei ollut hyvä. Narujen jälki paperilla oli liian hentoinen ja hiukan suttuinen. Kesällä aloitin mökin parvekkeella tehdä kuvaan kirjontaa eli virkkasin langat ja kiinnitin ne paperiin ohuella ompelulangalla. Mitähän tästä tulee?

Quite a long time ago I made a monotype; I applied a little color to the background and a winding pattern from the strings. On top of the monoprint I transferred a linocut of a jumping cat. I don't think the result was good. The trace of the strings on the paper was too loose and a bit messy. In the summer, I started to embroider the picture on the balcony of the cottage, that is, I crocheted the threads and attached them to the paper with thin sewing thread. What will this be?
