The new premises of Gallery Himmelblau fit fine together with Petri Yrjölä's (b. 1972) huge paintings. You should check out these oil paintings by looking at them from far and then at very close range. The colours are magical: white, gray, black, red and yellow. The brush strokes are energetic, sometimes the colour is dripping like blood. The landscapes are clearly from Lapland, Yrjölä is living in Ii. There id enough of sky and clouds: dramatic, soft, big empty spaces. In many of the pictures there is water and ice, snow and mountains. People are not visible, but small yellow striped bees might fly so that you almost hear the buzzing. These paintings are emotional states.
